Lower Dolpo Trek
Lower Dolpo Trek is one of the best ways to explore remote, isolated and less frequented areas of Nepal. Dolpo is actually the high-altitude region in the upper part of Dolpa district of Nepal where the nature is not re-arranged by the hand of man. This trek is suitable if you want to explore Dolpo but don’t want to go very high altitude or don’t have much time for Upper Dolpo Trek. Lower Dolpo with its own charm still offers much more and trekking in Lower Dolpo can be your lifetime experience. The region was not opened for outsiders until 1982 and it is still unvisited by many. Lower Dolpo trekking offers you untouched natural splendor and unexploited culture and lifestyle of local people. Lower Dolpo is one of the few places where people still follow pre-Buddhist Bon religion. The actual trek begins and ends at Juphal and the route is through the hidden areas of Nepal crossing two passes namely- Numa La pass (5,190m) and Baga La pass (5,070m). Trekking route lets you enter Shey Phoksundo National Park, the largest national park of Nepal. Shey Phoksundo is rich in flora and fauna as well as it is a home to famous Phoksundo Lake.
Join our Lower Dolpo Trek of 18 days to explore one of Nepal’s best kept secrets. It is also a demanding trek and requires anybody to have good cardiovascular fitness. If you are experienced trekker with above-average fitness and have enough time to explore higher altitudes of Dolpo, then we recommend our Upper Dolpo Trek package of 28 days.
