Annapurna with Tilicho Lake Trek

Annapurna with Tilicho Lake is an enthralling yet strenuous journey that takes you to the wonderland of Annapurna region and to Tilicho Lake (4920m), one of the highest lakes in the world. It explores one of the most celebrated walks in the vicinity Himalayas of Nepal and circumambulates the majestic Annapurna massifs, navigates to the beautiful Tilicho Lake. This trek provides you the opportunity to experience diverse culture, lush valleys as well as arid landscape, alpine as well as sub-tropical vegetation.

Our trek begins from the beautiful hill town of Besisahar reached after drive from Kathmandu in a scenic drive that takes past terraced fields, fast-flowing streams, rocky gorges, rural settlements and twisting roads. The trail cuts through varied elevations, and has climates ranging from semi-tropical to  desert, and with the landscapes varying from sub-tropical to alpine forests to snowy barren, and the stunning rocky Thorung La mountain pass with an altitude of  5416 meters. We ascend steadily towards Manang past the cultural communities of Bhulbhule, Jagat, Dharapani, Chame and Pisang. From this scenic landscape surrounded by the majestic Annapurna range, we head on to the gorgeous Tilicho Lake through ancient settlement of Manang. Ahead in the trek shall be the challenging and inspirational Thorung La Pass (5,416m), the widest pass in the world, which we cross cautiously and enter into the region of spiritual Muktinath Temple. It is equally sacred for the Hindu and Buddhist followers and hence Hindu temples and Buddhist monasteries coexist. From here on, this outstanding Circuit trek takes you through conventional mountain villages brimming with life and inhabited by many different ethnic communities on our way to Tilicho Lake. We experience an abundance of local subcultures, from farmers in the lower valleys to the descendents of Tibetan traders who occupy the higher zones. This trek also offers super views of the Annapurna massif, Lamjung Himal, Machhapuchhre Himal, Manaslu Himal, Dhaulagiri range and Tilicho peak. At the end of our trek the 17-day Annapurna with Tilicho Lake Trek concludes in Jomsom after which you will fly to Pokhara, followed by another flight to Kathmandu.

The trek is simply ideal for greenhorn backpackers who are new to trekking & want to get blooded in the wild.     Day 04: Trek from Chamje to Dharapani (1,960m/6,430ft): 5 – 6 hours

    Day 06: Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10824ft): 5 – 6 hours

    Day 07:  Pisang to Manang (3,500m/11,482ft): 6 – 7 hours

    Day 08: Manang to Khangsar (3745m/12286ft): 2-3 hours

    Day 09: Khangsar to Tilicho Base Camp (4140m/13,583ft): 5-6 hours

    Day 10: Visit Tilicho Lake (4,949m/16,138 ft) then trek back to base camp: 5-6 hours

    Day 11:  Tilicho Base Camp to Yak Kharka (4040m/13,020ft): 4-5 hours

    Day 12: Yak kharka to Thorang Phedi: (4420m/14501ft): 3-4 hours

    Day 13: Thorong Phedi to Muktinath (3,800m/12,467ft) via Thorong La pass (5416m/17764ft): 7 – 8 hours

    Day 14: Muktinath to Jomsom (2,715m/8,910ft): 5-6 hours

    Day 15: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara (823m/2,700ft): 30mins

    Day 16: Drive Pokhara to Kathmandu: 6/7 hours

    Day 17: Final departure
